Refugee claims
A refugee claim asks Canada to decide whether a person needs protection under immigration law. Identity, history, supporting evidence and the explanation of risk must be presented clearly and consistently.
Basis of Claim (BOC)
The Basis of Claim form is central to many claims. It explains what happened, why protection is requested and other information considered by the Refugee Protection Division. Accuracy, detail, consistency and filing deadlines matter.
Hearing preparation and representation
Where accepted by Trogon, services may include preparation and representation before the Refugee Protection Division. Scope is confirmed after reviewing the claim, deadlines, evidence and requirements.
Humanitarian and compassionate applications
An H&C application asks IRCC to consider exceptional circumstances in a permanent-residence application from within Canada. It is not a refugee claim and does not replace every other process.
Pre-Removal Risk Assessment (PRRA)
A PRRA is available only in certain removal situations and is subject to eligibility rules and deadlines. Anyone receiving PRRA materials should seek advice promptly.
